Your beginnings will seem humble, so prosperous will your future be. (Job 8:7)
There is something about growing pains they just do not let up. Its like bursting out of the ground, finally seeing the light of day, to realize there are huge trees all around you. These trees are tall and strong and it seems like the sprout stage will never end. Do not fear, you time is coming to be a tall tree too. As your roots grow deeper into the soil you will become strong and unmovable.
Enjoy the process because with great strength comes great responsibility. The tall trees you see provide shelter to many creatures and they loose countless leaves and branches with every passing season. Bearing the responsibility of graceful change in the midst of great loss.
Growth takes time, and the process is often painful. It is the price you pay to be great.
In 2017 I was forced to get comfortable with slow growth. I would look down at myself and see the little changes and it would make the pace a bit more bearable. Although comforted by seeing little spurts of growth, I had anxiety about the speed. I wondered why I couldn't sprint to my dreams and goals. Stuck walking and watching my peers pass me by.
In time I realized that where God is taking me requires the soaking in of every day in order to cultivate a great calling inside of me. This means taking time to focus on deepening and strengthening roots that can not be uprooted.
This is the growth that no one on the outside can see. These roots are tested by storms that will blow away those who are top heavy. Their outward growth you watched explode exponentially faster than yours but what is a mansion without a foundation. Its a death trap... that's what.
So appreciate your slow growth. Focus on your roots as much as your branches and leaves.
Take the time to enjoy growing into great. The journey is beautiful.
But Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen. ( 2 Peter 3:18)
