When I think of beauty I often think about my existence, the things that I can not explain, or even nature before I think about the beauty that I exude outwardly. Even the beauty I see in myself I give credit to the God who made me.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. (Genesis 1:27)
God must be the fairest of them all because goodness gracious we are some beautiful creations. I must admit that this is a scripture that I find to be fulfilling. IN the very beginning God saw fit to make me in his image. How incredibly blessed I am to be a reflection of the God I serve.
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men, yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. (Ecclesiastes 3 :11)
Have you ever thought about eternity and began to think... that is forever, and ever, and ever, and ever, and ever, and ever, and ever, and ever, and it never ever ever stops? I had a slight panic attack just typing it honestly. That expression is my first thought when I read this scripture. Although I am made in God's image and an eternal spirit is within me, my human brain can not and will not ever understand the ultimate greatness of God. It is the constant beauty of awe I am experiencing. A feeling of amazement that tends to sit in the pit of my soul like a net of butterflies tied down with rocks it just sits heavy inside as wings flutter around.
As 2018 is still fresh, I am thankful for the beauty of new beginnings. The figurative resetting of time a new year brings almost makes trials worth it just to get to the next chapter. Starting a new chapter allows me to reflect on the old and make changes that benefit my future. The pages are blank and I get to fill them with purpose driven action.
I pray that you take the time to reflect on the year that has passed. Take the beauty of a new year as an opportunity to walk in the presence of God.
